Executive Director, News Hampshire Charitable Fund

Robbins Milbank, founding member of the Foundation's Board of Trustees (1954-1981), was an advertising and public relations consultant known in San Francisco for his innovative advertising ideas, fine writing, and leadership among civic organizations. Mr. Milbank served as a manager at advertising firm Young and Rubicam and later as Creative Supervisor and Vice President of McCann-Erickson. He remained in this capacity until 1951 when he resigned to take a leading role in the many civic organizations in San Francisco with which he was associated. Among his roles, Mr. Milbank was Chairman of the Budget Study Committee of the San Francisco Community Chest (1939-1940); and Chairman of the Publicity Committee of the organization's 1951 drive; and Chairman of the War Activities Committee of the Pacific Advertising Association throughout the war years.

Mr. Milbank fulfilled a keen interest in education by serving as Alumni Trustee of Princeton University and Trustee of Smith College. He was a student of foreign affairs, member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the World Affairs Council of Northern California, and acted as a consultant to the Ford Foundation.
