Boon Pei Ya is the regional conservation finance program manager for Wildlife Conservation Society Southeast Asian Archipelago. She develops finance mechanisms to unlock a blend of public and private capital for conservation impact, currently both regionally through the creation of the Coral Triangle Conservation Fund and at a seascape level across fisheries and marine protected area financing. Pei Ya’s prior professional experience includes setting up the first Asia corporate sustainability function for a global engineering consultancy firm, independently consulting for non‐profits on projects covering marine wildlife trade and sustainable ocean economy planning, and working as a marine biologist on environmental impact assessments. She is a Wilson Trust Environmental Leadership Fellow and a member of the World Commission on Protected Areas Sustainable Finance Specialist Group. Pei Ya has a master’s degree in Applied Ecology and Conservation from the University of East Anglia and a certification in Environment, Social, and Governance investing.
