Debby Carter

Debby Carter is a longtime supporter of The Asia Foundation’s Lotus Circle, dedicated to advancing opportunities for women and girls. A published illustrator of children’s books, Debby combines her artistic talents with her passion for social impact.
Having lived in Beijing and Hong Kong in the early 1980s, she traveled extensively across Asia, including Myanmar, Thailand, Nepal, and India. While in Hong Kong, she collaborated with the World Wildlife Fund on conservation initiatives and volunteered as a teacher in Vietnamese refugee camps. In 2012, she taught art classes at Cambodian Children’s Fund schools in Phnom Penh and remains an active supporter of the organization.
Her journeys have since taken her to Mongolia, Bhutan, and Japan, reflecting her lifelong commitment to cross-cultural engagement and community support.
