Pacific RISE-CTIP Information Sheet

Pacific Island countries have been identified as sources, transit points, and destinations for trafficking in persons (TIP), especially sex and labor trafficking. Fragile economies, unemployment, harmful social norms, and growing international crime put vulnerable groups at risk of exploitation. The Asia Foundation is implementing the Pacific Regional Initiative and Support for More Effective Counter-Trafficking in Persons (Pacific RISE-CTIP) a five-year, USAID-funded program in Fiji, the Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea, and Tonga. The information sheet gives a brief on TIP and the background of the Pacific RISE-CTIP Program.
