Event: Wednesday, September 9, 2020

8:00 pm – 9:00 pm ICT (Bangkok)
While Thailand has been largely successful in stemming the tide of Covid-19 infections, the economic impact has been severe and could very well outlast the pandemic. The severe economic shock of this pandemic will only deepen existing inequalities and may fan smoldering political tensions.
The new Asia Foundation report Enduring the Pandemic: Surveys of the Impact of Covid-19 on Thai Small Businesses reveals that 70 percent of the national workforce has seen their monthly income fall by an average of 47 percent, and 11 percent of small businesses are at risk of closing permanently. What measures can be taken to help Thai businesses and workers to weather this storm? The report will released soon and made available to webinar participants.
