Evangeline de Silva

Evangeline de Silva has been part of The Asia Foundation’s Sri Lanka office since 2017, contributing to the Gender and Justice Program in various roles, most recently as senior program manager. She has almost 20 years of development sector experience in research, advocacy, and program management with a focus on women’s rights and addressing sexual and gender-based violence. At TAF, she supported the design and implementation of several projects addressing sexual and gender-based violence, gender equality, human rights, and women’s empowerment, working closely with local partners, multiple donors, and communities. Before joining TAF, she worked in several organizations, including as a senior program officer from 2014 to 2017 at the Women and Media Collective and as a research associate from 2011 to 2014 at the Applied Research Unit of the United Nations Office for Project Services. She also spent a brief period in 2007 as a program assistant on The Asia Foundation’s Rule of Law and Access to Justice projects.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of London International Program and a master’s degree in development studies from the University of Colombo
