How We Work
Leadership and Exchange Programs
The Asia Foundation invests in the human capital needed for Asian societies to develop and flourish, and has long worked to identify, equip and develop leaders of consequence—from emerging, next generation development and policy leaders in Asia, to highly accomplished leaders who seek to do more. LeadEx is the Foundation’s unit combining our leadership and exchange programs, including the Asia Foundation Development Fellows, Luce Scholars, and an array of exchanges.
Let’s Read
To develop a love of reading, children need books in their own language with characters, themes, and settings that reflect their lives. Let’s Read is an initiative that draws on The Asia Foundation’s deep expertise and networks in communities across Asia to cultivate the skills of local authors and illustrators while building Asia’s only free digital library for children. It is the successor to our long-running Books for Asia program.
Scholarships
The Asia Foundation’s scholarship programs are distinguished by the holistic, tailored support provided to girls and young women in secondary school and university. This includes material support to offset the costs of attending school to students and their families, such as tuition, fees, books, uniforms, housing, and transportation assistance. Our programs also provide essential support outside of the classroom. One-on-one mentoring, peer networking, counseling, and academic monitoring helps students thrive in their studies.

Proceeds from the event support The Asia Foundation’s Leadership & Exchanges program.
