With over a decade of experience in digital governance, tech policies reform, and public sector transformation, Pranaya Ratna Sthapit leads projects enabling governments and institutions to navigate complex digital futures. He specializes in designing and delivering strategic initiatives across data governance, economic and e-governance reform, driving equitable, inclusive, and citizen-centred digital transformation.

Pranaya’s expertise lies in shaping adaptive, future-ready institutions by introducing agile ways of working, open digital ecosystems, and scalable solutions for governance and development challenges. He leads high-performing, cross-functional teams that partner with the private sector, civic tech innovators, and government actors to co-create digital platforms, data governance frameworks, and inform plans and policies.

Beyond program delivery, his experiences also include an advisory role on national-level digital strategies and policies. He brings a system-focused approach to reform efforts and believes in aligning innovation with policy and regulatory shifts, particularly in areas like AI policy, e-governance, cybersecurity resilience, and digital public infrastructure.

Pranaya takes pride in building inclusive teams and nurturing collaborative partnerships that deliver real-world impact and has received The Asia Foundation’s Presidential Award. His digital governance work has touched over 40 institutions across Nepal’s federal, provincial, and local levels, with a focus on long-term sustainability and trust in digital and data systems.

Pranaya holds a diverse educational background, including a bachelor’s degree in Information Management from Tribhuvan University, a master’s degree in Business Administration from Old Dominion University, USA, and a postgraduate diploma in Social Science from Nepa School of Social Science in Kathmandu, Nepal.
