Tim Kochis

Tim Kochis is the CEO of Kochis Global and former CEO and chairman of Aspiriant. He has more than 50 years of experience in personal financial and investment planning. He has been active throughout his career in setting professional standards, having served as president of the CFP Board of Standards, chair of the Financial Planning Standards Board, Chair of the Foundation for Financial Planning, and Founder of the Financial Planning Certificate program at the University of California.  For several years, he served as a trustee of the Charles Schwab Investment Management Mutual Funds and ETF’s Board. 

Kochis has received every achievement award his profession confers and is serving or has served on the boards of many non-profit organizations, including The Asian Art Museum, The University of San Francisco, and The Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History.  

Tim holds an MBA degree from the University of Chicago, a J.D. from the University of Michigan, and an undergraduate degree in the Humanities from Marquette University. His U.S. Army service included a tour of duty in Vietnam, where he received a Purple Heart.
