Local Health Governance: Situational and Political Economy Analysis Report

With the Foundation’s support, Public Policy Pathshala conducted a political economy analysis and local health governance assessment in 2019 in lieu of implementing federalism. The report looks at local health service delivery system before and after federalism, the status of local health governance, underlying political and economic drivers and barriers, as well as opportunities and practical entry points for actions to strengthen local health governance. The assessment has covered and is informed by field work in 23 rural and urban municipalities across Nepal’s seven provinces as well as interactions with over 136 municipalities.
