Law and Justice in Indonesia
About this Topic
The Asia Foundation’s Law and Justice unit in Indonesia supports reform in the country’s justice sector. In collaboration with government and civil society partners, the program works to expand access to justice—especially for vulnerable and historically underserved communities. Focusing on both criminal and civil law, the program champions innovative approaches such as alternative sentencing and restorative justice. These efforts not only aim to reduce prison overcrowding but also to empower victims and promote a more balanced, humane legal system.
