Building Pathways for Young Women in STEM

Across Asia and the Pacific, girls and women remain underrepresented in university majors and careers in STEM. Overcoming barriers and advancing STEM opportunities for women and girls is critical to helping them realize their full potential as leaders in the workforce and changemakers in their communities. The Asia Foundation takes a lifecycle approach to girls’ education and career pathways by investing in girls’ and young women’s scholarships, particularly in STEM fields.

Our STEM scholars from Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam recently convened to share their knowledge and experiences and connect with STEM employers, mentors, and leaders. Together, they developed and honed their leadership skills, advancing them on the path toward addressing challenges and pursuing opportunities in STEM.
