Building State’s Capacity to Strengthen Grievance Management System in Bangladesh

From April 24-25 in Bangladesh, the Bureau of Manpower, Employment, and Training (BMET) collaborated with The Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit (RMMRU) on the comprehensive training program “Capacity Enhancement in Grievance Management and Investigation” for District Employment and Manpower Offices (DEMO) officials. Assistant directors from DEMO across 64 districts and 13 BMET officials actively participated in the training sessions held at the BMET Conference Room.

The two-day training aimed to enhance the capacity of DEMO officials to manage grievances related to migration irregularities and conduct thorough investigations. It will assist the participating government officials in strengthening the grievance management system at the grassroots level.

RMMRU, an integral member of the fairer labor migration coalition, is pushing issue-based reform work under the Promoting Effective, Responsive and Inclusive Governance in Bangladesh (PERI) Program, supported by The Asia Foundation and the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO). The program aims to achieve key policy and institutional reforms in specific areas to overcome systemic constraints or bottlenecks in Bangladesh.
