A Pocket Guide: Emergencies and Providing Psychosocial Support for Counselors in Gampaha (Sinhala)
The Covid-19 pandemic halted many of the usual service provision avenues available to government cadre counselors in Sri Lanka. They had to relearn how to support clients remotely, set up boundaries and new protocols for client support as well as respond to various needs of communities facing natural disasters amidst the pandemic. This pocket guide was designed to provide a handbook for the Counselors attached to the State Ministry of Women and Child Development and the State Ministry of Samurdhi in the Gampaha District. Compiled based on the feedback and requirements of the counselors this book is uniquely designed to support the specific needs of counselors in the Gampaha District during the Covid-19 pandemic and the monsoon/flood seasons. This booklet is a resource for counselors to utilize when providing support to their clients remotely and when they are required to provide first aid in emergencies.
