Search Begins for New Asia Foundation President & CEO
The Asia Foundation is launching the recruitment process for a new leader to succeed David D. Arnold. After 12 years as The Asia Foundation President & CEO, Arnold will step down at the end of 2022. A specially constituted search committee of the Board of Trustees is leading the process to recruit and select the new president. The Foundation is committed to ensuring the process will be undertaken to ensure a smooth transition.
“I am honored to have led this flagship institution through some of the most remarkable and challenging times in modern history. For anyone committed to Asia’s peaceful development, it is impossible to not have a strong connection to The Asia Foundation’s mission, values, and vision,” said Arnold. “The Foundation’s long-standing presence and deep local knowledge have been hallmarks of the Foundation’s programs and people for more than six decades, and the incredible work it does on the ground throughout Asia and the Pacific is critical to the future development of the region.”
The new president will lead a vibrant organization to its next level of impact. The president will be a visionary leader with Asia, policy, and international development experience, and adept at navigating rapidly shifting global dynamics, overseeing all aspects of The Asia Foundation, including its field offices across the Asia-Pacific region, as well as offices in San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
