The Asia Foundation Partners with Rappler for 2023 Social Good Summit
The Asia Foundation in the Philippines joins Rappler for this year’s Manila Social Good Summit on September 16, 2023 at the Samsung Hall, SM Aura Premier, Taguig City, Philippines.
The Summit brings together citizens, tech and thought leaders, and reform advocates working in the Philippines and globally toward the 2030 sustainable development goals. With the theme #TurningTechForGood, the Summit will tackle how tech is shaping the world’s biggest social issues. The event will provide a platform for discussion on the actions that institutions, communities, businesses, and government agencies can take to create an ecosystem capable of addressing global technology-related challenges through technology reform and regulation, thereby mitigating potential societal harms.
The Summit also features XChange, a space for learning, interaction, and ideas offering a platform for public and private organizations and institutions to highlight advocacies and encourage knowledge exchange.
The Asia Foundation will be part of XChange and will feature some of its programs and projects that are contributing to responsive and accountable governance and social good in the Philippines.
- Coalitions for Change
- Initiative for Advancing Community Transformation (I-ACT)
- Youth Leadership for Democracy (YouthLed)
- Forward Bangsamoro
- Accelerate Women’s Entrepreneurship for Peace and Prosperity in Mindanao
This year’s event features former United States Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Supreme Court of the Philippines Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen, and Nobel Peace Prize laureate and Rappler CEO Maria Ressa.
