Jan Mikael de Lara Co (Kael) works in strategic political communications, heading the communications unit for the Liberal Party of the Philippines. Over the past fifteen years, he has worked with former Senator Mar Roxas (2008 to 2010), former President Noynoy Aquino (2010 to 2016), and former Vice President Leni Robredo (2020 to 2022). Kael has also worked in campaigns for counter-disinformation, peace and security, climate action, governance and reform, and the defense of democratic institutions. He has received awards for his poetry and literary translations.
